Vacancy: Finance Assistance

Cricket Namibia is the custodian of all Sport and Cricket Programs and activities at the Namibia Cricket
Ground. This advert serves to announce a vacancy as Finance Assistant. Applications are now open to
suitable qualified and experienced candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creditor Management
    o Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and on time
    o Reconcile supplier statements with the general ledger and handle payment runs
    o Resolve supplier queries and discrepancies professionally
    o Maintain orderly electronic and hard-copy records of all creditor transactions
    o Track and report days outstanding on the suppliers’ age analysis
  • Debtor Management
    o Issue customer invoices and debit notes accurately and on time
    o Reconcile debtor statements with the general ledger
    o Monitor, follow up, and report on outstanding debtor balances
    o Track and report days outstanding on the customers’ age analysis
  • Cash-Book & Banking
    o Accurately capture daily bank transactions and allocate receipts/payments
    o Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
    o Capture and reconcile petty-cash transactions; investigate variances promptly
  • Month-End & Administration
    o Assist with month-end closing procedures and schedules
    o Ensure proper filing and archiving of all finance documentation
    o Perform any other finance tasks assigned by the Finance Manager

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or degree (completed or in progress) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 1–2 years’ practical experience in a finance or accounting environment
    (creditors/debtors/banking) preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (Pastel or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail, numeric accuracy, and time-management skills
  • Clear, professional communication—both written and verbal
