WINDHOEK: Cricket Namibia and Cricket South Africa (CSA) are proud to announce a historic T20 International match between Namibia’s national men’s team, the FNB Eagles, and South Africa’s Proteas, set to take place on Saturday, 11 October 2025 in Windhoek.
This much-anticipated match will mark the official opening of the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground (FNB NCG), the brand-new home of cricket in Namibia. The action-packed day will feature various activities for fans of all ages with gates opening in the morning. The main event – the T20I clash between the Eagles and the Proteas will start at 14h30.
The 11th of October will go down as a milestone moment in Namibian sport. Not only is it the biggest cricket event ever hosted on Namibian soil, but it will also celebrate the opening of a world-class stadium that will soon welcome the world.
The FNB NCG is set to make history as it will host matches in both the 2026 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup; the very first time Namibia will host World Cup games.
This encounter will mark the first-ever international match between the two sides – a significant milestone for African cricket.
Cricket Namibia Chief Executive Officer, Johan Muller added: “This truly is a memorable occasion. The new FNB NCG has been a dream for the last four years and has finally materialized. A match against our neighbours, and one of the top cricketing countries in the world, is the perfect way to open this world class facility.”
