Justin Kemp Appointed as Cricket Namibia Director Of Cricket

Cricket Namibia is pleased to announce the appointment of Justin Kemp as its new Director of Cricket.

Kemp brings extensive experience to the role, having built an impressive career both as an international cricketer and as a coach in high-performance environments around the world.

A former South African international, Kemp represented his country in 4 Test matches, 85 One Day Internationals and 8 T20 Internationals between 2001 and 2007. Widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most destructive all-rounders of his generation, he made an immediate impact at international level by claiming five wickets on his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2001. His powerful middle-order batting and effective seam bowling established him as a key player in South Africa’s limited-overs teams for several years.

Following a professional playing career that included domestic leadership roles and franchise cricket appearances across the globe, Kemp transitioned into coaching and player development.

More recently, Kemp has held senior coaching positions within the global T20 franchise landscape, including appointments as Head Coach in the Bangladesh Premier League and Pakistan Super League.

As Director of Cricket, Kemp will oversee the strategic direction of cricket operations across Cricket Namibia, including the national teams, high-performance programmes, talent identification structures, coach development pathways and the continued growth of the game throughout the country.

The appointment aligns with Cricket Namibia’s vision of becoming a globally competitive cricket nation. Kemp’s international playing experience, combined with his exposure to some of the world’s leading high-performance and franchise environments, will support the organisation’s efforts to strengthen its cricketing systems and create sustainable pathways from grassroots participation to international success.

As Cricket Namibia continues to build on recent achievements on and off the field, the appointment represents another important step in ensuring that Namibian cricket remains competitive on the global stage while developing the next generation of players.
