Cricket Namibia is proud to officially announce the appointment of Gerhard Lotter as the new Assistant Coach of the Capricorn Eagles, Namibia’s national women’s cricket team.
A familiar face in the Cricket Namibia setup, Lotter has been a valuable contributor to the Capricorn Eagles over the past five years, supporting the team on various international tours. His formal appointment into a full-time role marks a significant milestone in strengthening the coaching structure around the national women’s team.
Lotter brings a dynamic background in sports, having represented Namibia in hockey, rugby, and cricket at national youth levels. His playing career includes appearances in three ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, the U17 Hockey Youth Olympic Qualifiers, two U18 Craven Week Rugby tournaments, and the U20 Rugby World Trophy. He later advanced to play rugby for Western Province and False Bay Rugby Club in South Africa, before earning his place in Namibia’s national rugby team.
Transitioning into coaching, Lotter spent eight years at Windhoek Gymnasium as head coach of the First Cricket Team while also developing hockey and rugby talent. He has led the GCE Cricket Academy’s development programs and most recently coached Wanderers Cricket Club for two seasons.
Cricket Namibia is excited to welcome Lotter in a full-time capacity, where he will not only play a key role in advancing the Capricorn Eagles’ performance but also contribute to the development pipeline of women’s cricket across the country. His experience and passion for cricket will be instrumental in taking the women’s game in Namibia to new heights.
