Cricket Namibia to Host The Proteas and Zimbabwe in FNB T20 Tri-Series

Cricket Namibia is pleased to announce the FNB T20 Tri-Series, set to take place from 28 August to 6 September 2026 in Windhoek, followed by three ODI’s between The FNB Eagles and the Proteas Men. 

The tournament will bring together three of Africa’s leading cricket nations, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe, to compete in a landmark event.

The initiative is being led by Cricket South Africa (CSA) and Zimbabwe Cricket, in partnership with Cricket Namibia, to strengthen collaboration among African cricket nations and create more competitive playing opportunities. Together, the three cricket boards share a vision of building a stronger, more competitive future for cricket in Africa through regular international competition.

The concept was first initiated in 2025 during the inauguration of the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground, when Namibia’s national men’s team, the FNB Eagles, hosted South Africa in a historic T20 International.

The vision gained further momentum during the 2026 ICC Africa Annual Conference, hosted by Cricket Namibia in Windhoek, where cricket Boards from across the continent expressed strong support for establishing a sustainable competition that would strengthen African cricket through increased collaboration and high-performance competition.

The August FNB T20 Tri-Series will serve as the foundation for the launch of the Africa Cup in 2027. The Africa Cup will become a premier continental tournament, providing more African nations with the opportunity to compete at the highest level.

In support of cricket development across the continent, all profits generated from the FNB T20 Tri-Series will be donated to the Africa Cricket Association to help grow and strengthen cricket throughout Africa.
